Progress on my Minecraft world.

Enchanting is necessary every time you get to level 30 (Or when you’re looking for specific enchantments via books), and I’ve gotten two tools with nice enchantments so far.     I have a fair amount of iron and therefore went ahead and crafted three lava buckets and use the stoves to turn them into nice stone, for the expansion of the road system.

Wood is not in as great supply as I’d like, so it’s a priority to collect more.   Fences, chests, and tools all require it in large quantities.

The Great Western Road cut through a lot of mountains and consists mostly of a tunnel.    This is required, clearly, in Amplified mode due to the massive size of the tunnels and the complete lack of need for cobblestone – which you would get in mass quantities by chopping them down.

This sight greeted me at the end of the mountain range and I decided to build a bolthole here.       I may want to cross the ocean and see what’s beyond it.

The fact that Amidst does not work with 1.7.2 is cramping my style.     I need to find a village for carrots and potatoes.      In Amplified mode, finding them “normally” is even more difficult since they could be on the top of gigantic mountains that are unreachable from a more normal level (near sea level).

So the priority is expanding the road network, looking around for villages, and accumulating iron, wood, and diamonds.    Probably block 1,000 is a good place to stop in any direction.    Only West has reached a fairly long size.
